Safety Video : Rules and Regulations for Returning Safely to SDA

Dear Parent/ Carer,
I am really looking forward to seeing you all back at the studio when we re-open on 12th April; I am sure the children are as equally excited as the teachers. The safety procedures introduced previously will still be followed to help keep everyone as safe as possible.
The Summer term will run from 12th April - 18th July, half term will be from 29th May - 5th June. I have attached an updated timetable for this term. Invoices will be sent out via email based on classes taken in the Autumn term, feel free to try out any extra classes.
Exams are booked for May and July - further details to follow.
All dancewear can still be ordered from the school. The office will be open on a Saturday to discuss your needs. Many items are already in stock or can be ordered as required.

Dear Parent/ Carer,
I do hope you are all safe and well! The Zoom classes are a great success and as you can see from the advert attached, an immense benefit to the children. We have managed to offer Ballet, Tap, Lyrical Contemporary, Modern Jazz, Theatrecraft, Pointe, Riverdance, Cheerleading and Street. Classes will continue throughout half term as I think it would help the children keep occupied. If you are paying in 4 week blocks for your classes, the next block starts from 8th February.
Also, if anyone would like a private lesson (they are £16 per 30 minutes) please email me or text 07722002451 for an available slot.
I am sure we will be back in the studio soon and we all look forward to seeing everyone.

Dear Parent/ Carer,
Hope you are all safe and well. We are now organised with our Zoom timetable and classes will start on Monday 11th January. If you have already paid your term fees we will send you the timetable with the relevant codes. You can still pay your fees at any time before Monday. As an alternative you can pay for a block of 4 week lessons at a time. All classes on this offer are £5 per class. When you pay for any classes can you please put your child's name down as the reference. Hopefully this will not last too long as the vaccine comes into effect. I am sure the children will benefit from continuing with their dance classes.

This is a quick message to let you know that unfortunately the lockdown came a lot sooner than expected. As we are all coming to terms with the new regime, I thought it would be best to let things settle down this week and I will email you again on Friday with a plan for this next term.

Happy New Year and welcome back to our new spring term. As the current situation stands, I am happy to announce that we will be welcoming students back to the studio from Monday 4th January 2021. There is however a slight change in the timetable on Saturdays from 11.45 (see attachment). An exam session has been booked on Sunday 31st January for Preparatory Tap, 10.15 Preparatory Ballet class, Grade 5 Tap and Riverdance. If this is cancelled it can be rescheduled. Other classes will be taking exams later in the term.
Please check your emails for your invoice. If we do have another lockdown all classes will return to zoom and codes will only be released when fees are paid.

Timetable January 2021

Great news, classes at the studio will start again from Wednesday 2nd December. Well done to everyone for doing so well with the zoom classes. Classes will resume to the normal timetable (see attached) and continue until Friday 18th December. All being well we can open again after Christmas on Monday 4th January 2021.
Unfortunately we have missed the exams on November 29th but I have rescheduled them for early next year as the excellent attendance through zoom has kept everyone up to standard.
All the teachers are so looking forward to seeing the children again and whilst we cannot have a Christmas party we will create a Christmas atmosphere and have some fun and games in their last class before we break up. Let's all hope that 2021 will be a better year!

Timetable from December 2nd 2020

As we are entering a short lockdown the school will be closed from Thursday 5th November. All classes will be transferred to Zoom and the teachers will be teaching from the studio. I am sending you all the codes for the classes and they will be the same every week. Obviously we will only be admitting students of SDA.
Please encourage your children to take part as it keeps us all in touch in these strange times. I have also booked exams so I would like to keep everyone up to scratch with their techniques. If you were given an exam envelope please keep hold of it until we return which I am sure won't be long.

Just to let you know that we are staying open over the half term, and will keep classes going until we break for Christmas. Children are invited to dress up on Saturday 31st October as it's Halloween - as long as they can still dance in their outfit!
If your child has to self isolate at anytime and would like to join classes through zoom please email us 24 hours before the class and we will send you the codes.

It has been lovely to have the children back, providing some normality and fun in these uncertain times. We are continuing to work hard and adhere to government guidelines to keep everybody as safe as possible. Due to the closure week commencing 26th September, we will stay open over the half term. We are currently providing the provision for self isolating students to attend their classes via zoom. Please get in touch (24 hours in advance) via email to receive the meeting details. Should the school have to close in the future due to COVID/ Government restrictions, all lessons will be transferred to zoom classes.

Hi everyone,
Good news! Miss Hayley is much better and has been given the go ahead to return to work on Wednesday. Miss Kendrick and Rianna have both had negative test results so we are all good to go to open up on Wednesday 30th September when Miss Heidi, Miss Sophie and Matthew will all be teaching.

One of our teachers, Miss Hayley, has tested positive for COVID 19. Only a small number of students are affected. These students have been identified, advised and appropriate action has been taken. To ensure the safety of all our students we are going to close the school to allow us to carry out a deep clean. We will re-open on Wednesday 30th September.

Updated September Timetable 2020
Dear Parent / Carer,
We are really looking forward to welcoming you back and starting the new term. Thank you for your continued support and for being a loyal member of Southport Dance Academy.
To ensure the studio is as safe as possible and meets current government guidelines, we would ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your class to allow for temperature checks and hand washing. Children should be ready to dance and only bring with them a change of shoes and a water bottle. The waiting area will be supervised and has been set up to allow for social distancing. All Saturday classes will leave the building via the exit on Wright Street. There will be a maximum of 16 students per class and the studios are marked with socially distanced squares. Areas will be cleaned after each lesson, with deep cleans at the end of each day.

Dear Parent / Carer,
Our new term starts on Saturday 5th September. The timetable (see link) has been adjusted in accordance with current government guidelines. Please check the timetable to see classes available and times in case previous classes have had to change.
As far as possible, correspondence will be by email and all invoices can be paid by BACS. Below is the invoice for term 1, you will be pleased to know that there has been no increase in fees.

We have just one week of Summer Holiday classes left, after this week, and you can now book on. Please check the timetable and send an email to reserve your child's place in their classes.
There are 15 slots available for each class and I will have to ask you to pre pay £5 per class in advance to secure your place. This can be done by bank transfer.
Please put your child's name as reference. Classes for week 4 must be paid for by Friday 21st August. If your child is unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible.
Information regarding the new term commencing in September will be sent out soon.

We have had an amazing first day of classes back at the studio today and are very excited for the week ahead! Please note that the timetable for Thursday has changed as we have added a new Junior Lyrical Modern class (ages 5-11).

If your child is unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible. Please keep to time and watch the video on our Facebook and Instagram on safety guidelines. Remember to wear your correct dance uniform, bring a change of shoes if you are doing more than 1 class, and bring a water bottle. Parents should leave their child at the drop off point at the entrance to the building.

Hi everyone,
Fantastic news! The government has announced that dancing schools can open from 25th July, so I have decided to run the Zoom classes until the end of July and then start summer holiday classes at the studio in August. Please reply to let me know if you will be attending so I can set the timetable. Places will have to be pre-booked as there can only be 15 people in each class. A short video will be posted on the SDA website and social media to show the safety measures that have been put in place. All of the teachers are so excited at the prospect of seeing our lovely pupils back doing what we all love - DANCING!

Zoom Classes July
Hope you are all well and are excited for our Zoom classes to begin.
Attached is a timetable for our free Zoom trial classes to be held this week with the required meeting ID and passwords. The purpose of this is for everyone to get used to logging on and how the classes will run. It will also give us the opportunity to address any technical difficulties. We would like everyone to join with cameras on so we can see you, but microphones muted unless we ask you to unmute.
From Saturday 4th July we will begin our syllabus classes on Zoom. An updated timetable is also attached which has musical theatre added and the dates of classes to make things clearer. Classes are £5 each and will be 40 minutes long. As a reminder, classes in Week 1 (Saturday 4th July to Friday 10th July) must be paid for by Thursday 2nd July.
Please remember to enter your child's name as the reference and send us an email with the classes they are taking to confirm their place. Codes for classes in Week 1 will be sent out in the morning on the day of the class providing payments have been received.

Zoom Classes
Hi Everyone,
I do hope you have been enjoying the live streaming of classes on Facebook and Instagram. As we are still awaiting news on opening up, I have decided to introduce zoom classes online for graded syllabus work which will enable us to see you and give you tuition. This will initially run for four weeks then we will review the situation. This week's classes will be taught via Zoom so we can all familiarise ourselves with it; there will be no charge for these classes.
Classes are £5 each and will commence on Saturday 4th July. Each class will be for 40 minutes. A full timetable is attached (also available on Instagram and Facebook).
To reserve your space all we need is the fee and your name as reference made payable to the details below. All classes must be booked in advance each week. Classes commencing 4th July must be paid for by Thursday 2nd July.
And, if you would send me a confirmation email once this is paid with the relevant class codes (see timetable), I will add you to the class and send the required code(s).

Following the most recent government updates, we have had to make the difficult decision to close the school from Thursday 19th March. Classes will be rescheduled once we know it is safe to do so. The health and well being of our students and their families is always at the forefront of everything we do. We would like to thank you again for your patience and support.
